Morales wins by a butt

Erik Morales made true his promise to kick ass last March 20 as he defeated Manny Pacquiao by turning his head into a gigantic talking butt.

“Things were going all right right up until the fifth round, then all of a sudden I heard this loud POP! From then on, all I could see was an ASS with an AFRO—an ASSfro!,” exlaimed a bewildered Pacquiao.

Witnesses sitting close to the ring reportedly heard Morales taunting Pacquiao with words like: “I’m going to eat you!,” “I just had a big ass burrito for lunch and it’s all coming back up baby,” “I feel so OPEN when I’m with you,” “You CRACK me up Manny!,” “I feel like dancing with you…CHEEK TO CHEEK!,” and “Bet you’re wondering how a blowjob from me feels like!”

CONfidence

ConfidenceI’ve actually seen this movie three times already. Twice last year, because my sister rented a DVD copy which we all watched (the fact that it was released in the Philippines two years after it was shown in the US just begs a more detailed investigation than what I have time for); and once again last night because nothing else was showing, and Rach and I didn’t want to go home just yet.

Robots

Robots (Widescreen Edition)Just saw Robots last night, and I was a bit disappointed by how such a visually inventive film could tell a totally flat, if not overused, story. Not that I was expecting a lot, but come on, these are the same guys who made Ice Age. Ok, so maybe Ice Age wasn’t the shit either, but at least it had Denis Leary. All Robots had was Robin Williams, who usually represents a hit or miss affair.

If I’m not staring with an expressionless face at the screen, letting all the flat jokes pass; I’m busy mentally noting story elements that were lifted from other movies. Key plot points were taken from A Bug’s Life (which was inspired by Seven Samurai); and Metropolis (a movie that heavily influenced the Matrix films). Visual cues and homages were taken/given to Star Wars, The Wizard of Oz, and Singing in the Rain, to name a few.
