For the longest time, I’ve been bummed by the fact that the Australian DVD release of Serenity has a buttload of extra features not found in the Region 1/3 release.
Anyway my sister recently got back from a paid vacation in Australia and guess what she got me?
I’m so thankful I wasn’t that mean to her when we were growing up.
Here’s a list of features that aren’t included in the US version:
A Filmmaker’s Journey - Journey with Joss from Script to Screen
Joss Whedon Q&A Session - Filmed at Fox Studios in Sydney
The Green Clan - Expose on Cinematographer Jack Green and his team
Now all I have to do is figure out how I can buy this DVD and I will have Serenity closure. Honest.
Another old video that I just had to put up here. It used to be in Google Video, but for some reason, it got taken down. I’m not sure if this is going to stay up in YouTube, but I plan on enjoying it for as long as I can.
I spent the afternoon distributing flyers to houses around the village for another fund raising activity that some friends and I are organizing. If there’s one thing I’ve taken from it is that I now have a newfound respect for the people who deliver the mail.
I had to distribute around 50 flyers in just under an hour, and already I was ready to give up halfway through the task.
These people have to deal with rabid dogs, unfriendly weather, hard to locate house numbers, and what I imagine to be the most common pet peeves among postal workers: houses with no mailboxes.
So the next time you catch the mailman sleeping with your wife, remember what these guys have to go through each day and prepare milk and cookies for when they’re done.
