Heroes Season 1 Episode 5 - Hiros

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usFuture Hiro meets Peter. Present Hiro sees Nathan Fly. Peter and Isaac learn more about their powers together (in a totally non-homo erotic way). Nikki and Nathan sleep together. Ando stalks Nikki. Clare does something totally uninteresting. And Matt—-well he’s pulling a What Women Want with his wife, which ties him with Clare for the Least Interesting Character in This Episode Award.

But that’s not being fair to Matt & Clare considering how satisfying this episode is. Not only are some questions finally answered; but things are now moving away from the “Discovery Stage” of any super hero story, and are headed towards the “Forming of Alliances” stage.

Awesome news for those of us who are in their late 20s and early 30s. I personally am psyched about this because this is one of my favorite shows while growing up. Not only is it the only show to feature Doozers, but it’s also the first show I’ve watched that talked about complex issues such as racism and how we each affect the people around us.

Of course, back then I didn’t know it was racism. I only referred to it as “How we’re so much better than our neighbors.”

Fraggle Rock: Complete Second SeasonOne of the factors that helped greenilight the project was the respectable DVD sales of the first two seasons of the show. Which brings me to ask the question “What’s this movie’s target demographic?”

I’ve searched for any form of statistic that will inform me what kind of people bought the DVD. Either it could be parents who loved the show as kids and are hoping their kids will enjoy it just as they did; or it’s the kids themselves who are getting to know, and are starting to love the show. While the latter is the more ideal of the two possibilities, it’ll less likely to be the case.
