This is the highlight and the most memorable part of our trip. The Auschwitz Concentration Camp, the biggest Nazi concentration / death camp in WWII.
We’ve all heard the stories, seen Schindler’s List, and read the history books. But nothing can really prepare you for the experience of being where the better part of the Holocaust happened. Truly, a sobering experience, and one that will stay with us.
Sadly, these pictures can not do justice to the experience.
Seeing those pictures were harrowing enough for me. I don’t know how you were able to finish the tour, I know I won’t.
I forgot to tell you about the smell man. Those of us in the tour group had trouble breathing because there was a certain smell in the air. Maybe it’s just our minds, but the smell was really creepy.
