The Wheel Turns

Just today I learned of Robert Jordan’s passing. I’ve been living with the man’s books for such a long time that the possibility of him not finishing The Wheel of Time books just never occurred to me.

I won’t be a hypocrite and say that I loved everything about him and his work since I first picked up The Great Hunt (I read the second book before I could get a copy of the first book) back in high school.

In fact, I grew so frustrated with him and his long story, that after the tenth book, I vowed not to buy any more of his books until the final volume has been published and is sitting on the shelves of the nearest bookstore.

But that doesn’t change the fact that he is one of the masters of the genre. So much so that it’s hard to talk about Tolkien and not mention Jordan.

Reportedly, he worked on the twelfth and final book until his untimely death. Obviously, if the final volume indeed gets published, it will be through the efforts of the family who survives him.

Farewell Mr. Jordan. Thank you for the stories. It was a wild ride, and it was fun while it lasted.

JDATE Video Trailer

After that spurt of writing frenzy (27 posts in 21 days!) I’m letting things quiet down because my contract with my current host is running out, and we’re in the process of transferring this whole site to the new one (if the check doesn’t bounce that is). Hopefully, I can get back to my groove once I’ve transferred.

Meanwhile, I’m going to leave you with the video trailer for JOHN DIES AT THE END! YAY!

JDATE Now on Amazon! YAY!

One of my favorite online books has finally made the transition from the internet into the real world.

Before I go on, I’m going to go on a tangent and take this opportunity to point out how much I admire/envy this David Wong (not his real name) character.

First of all, he’s half of the writing team behind Pointlesswasteoftime.com, a comedy site which I credit for inspiring 80% of all the so called “comedy articles” I’ve written in this blog. If Mike is bastardizing Jason Mulgrew, I am bastardizing PWOT (With a little Jay Pinkerton and Mack Leighty thrown into the mix). Granted that I have yet to come close to the quality of the articles to be found on PWOT, I still find myself plugging along hoping I get to entertain at least two of the four people who visit my blog regularly.
