Future Hiro meets Peter. Present Hiro sees Nathan Fly. Peter and Isaac learn more about their powers together (in a totally non-homo erotic way). Nikki and Nathan sleep together. Ando stalks Nikki. Clare does something totally uninteresting. And Matt—-well he’s pulling a What Women Want with his wife, which ties him with Clare for the Least Interesting Character in This Episode Award.
But that’s not being fair to Matt & Clare considering how satisfying this episode is. Not only are some questions finally answered; but things are now moving away from the “Discovery Stage” of any super hero story, and are headed towards the “Forming of Alliances” stage.
Surprisingly enough, the coolest thing about this episode was not this:
Instead it’s the revelation of the truth about Peter’s powers. Evidentlly, he’s not such a big emo-fag mega loser after all. His power isn’t supposed to be flying. Instead, he can absorb the powers of any SUPER nearby and use it as his own. Sort of like Bishop from the X-Men. This makes his character a lot more interesting.
Incidentally, to all those who were surprised at Nathan’s aptitude for controlling his powers, I give you: the graphic novel where Nathan flew on command(16MB). So I guess this means that at least some events contained in the online comics are to be considered canon, which would suck because as I’ve mentioned before, the show wouldn’t be able to stand on its own.
Also Mysterious Man’s powers are revealed to be the ability to remove people’s memories.
Next week: Hiro & Ando go to New York with the possibility of meeting up with Peter & Isaac. And D.L. will finally make an appearance. He will be played by Leonard Roberts also known as Forrest Gates to Buffy fans.
