…Because I am really digging them.
I’m not a big fan of Nu-Rock and other genres associated to Pogi Rock Bands which is why I have stopped listening to music altogether. I have been allergic to most forms of music that are not from the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. Yeah there are some new bands that are exceptions like Deftones, but nothing that really gets me excited.
Then somebody from another forum was so vehement about loving Breaking Benjamin, that I felt I had to check em out.
So now I’ve had time to listen to all three of their albums, and what is the verdict? I am excited. Really excited. I can’t wait for them to release their next album because I haven’t been this excited about a band in literally a decade.
It made me realize that maybe I haven’t been giving new music a chance and there may be similar bands out there that I should listen to. Somebody mentioned that BB reminded them of Finger Eleven so I checked out one of their songs:
And it just annoyed the living piss out of me. That song was why I hate Nu-Metal in the first place. It was all form without any substance, and it was just downright annoying.
I am now in the search of other bands in this generation that may come close to Breaking Benjamin, and am hopeful despite the fact that most of the band’s contemporaries (Se7endust, Disturbed, etc.) don’t really do it for me. So I posted this message in the forums I frequent (as well as this blog on the off chance that somebody is still visiting my blog) to see if they can come up with something.
So please restore my faith in music.

Since BB is my favorite band let me try and hook you up with some of my other favorites that haven’t been mentioned here. I’ll try to cater to your tastes as I can tell you want something revolutionary.(People above have already mentioned the best with skillet, trapt, papa roach, etc…If they don’t tickle your senses you need something more fresh) In order to be unbiased I listened to every band posted here…

I adore BB. The band safetysuit kinda reminds me of them. Try them out. The song Stay and Annie are my favorites. Its lil bit more mellow but still the same kind of music

How about Seasons After? They are a little harder I think similar to Killswitch Engage but I like them better. They only have one album.
Nobody mentioned Three Days Grace, very similar to BB but still with their own insanely amazing vibe :]
