…Because I am really digging them.
I’m not a big fan of Nu-Rock and other genres associated to Pogi Rock Bands which is why I have stopped listening to music altogether. I have been allergic to most forms of music that are not from the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. Yeah there are some new bands that are exceptions like Deftones, but nothing that really gets me excited.
Then somebody from another forum was so vehement about loving Breaking Benjamin, that I felt I had to check em out.
So now I’ve had time to listen to all three of their albums, and what is the verdict? I am excited. Really excited. I can’t wait for them to release their next album because I haven’t been this excited about a band in literally a decade.
It made me realize that maybe I haven’t been giving new music a chance and there may be similar bands out there that I should listen to. Somebody mentioned that BB reminded them of Finger Eleven so I checked out one of their songs:
And it just annoyed the living piss out of me. That song was why I hate Nu-Metal in the first place. It was all form without any substance, and it was just downright annoying.
I am now in the search of other bands in this generation that may come close to Breaking Benjamin, and am hopeful despite the fact that most of the band’s contemporaries (Se7endust, Disturbed, etc.) don’t really do it for me. So I posted this message in the forums I frequent (as well as this blog on the off chance that somebody is still visiting my blog) to see if they can come up with something.
So please restore my faith in music.

i know how ur feeling, i want the new cd to come out so bad. ive been listening to breaking benjamin for over a year now, and ive gotta say it gets kinda boring listening to the same song over and over again.
breaking benjamins best song they have ever made is blow me away. you wont find it on itunes, but its on limewire. its also on the so cold ep cd.

I´d suggest Gyroscope, especially the song Snakeskin. It sounds pretty like BB in my opinion. In Flames is a pretty good band too, but I can´t describe the sound, it´s been too long

dont ever ask the interenet. most of these people are the reason shitty bands like entwine and smile empty soul make it. the majority of nthese bands sound exactly the same, in other words nothing like bb. none of these bands stand out.
12 Stones and Egypt Central would be a good bet. A good place to look would be Sirius Satelite radio Octane, thats where I get all my new stuff from.

Hey if you like breaking benjamin (just like me) you should hear three days grace. Really good music.
Hey iv been doing a search for similar bands to BB too but so far the best one iv found is Three Days Grace,the voice and style are very similar and they are easier listening than that of Seether and other bands like Creed, Nickleback and more of the bigger named bands. Alter bridge might also be a bit more like your cup o tea too.

I cant believe nobody has put up Decyfer Down, check em out man they are decent, only look at the album called “End of Gray” because their second album is with a new singer and blows. But yeah you might like some of their songs like “Life Again”
