JDATE Now on Amazon! YAY!

One of my favorite online books has finally made the transition from the internet into the real world.

Before I go on, I’m going to go on a tangent and take this opportunity to point out how much I admire/envy this David Wong (not his real name) character.

First of all, he’s half of the writing team behind Pointlesswasteoftime.com, a comedy site which I credit for inspiring 80% of all the so called “comedy articles” I’ve written in this blog. If Mike is bastardizing Jason Mulgrew, I am bastardizing PWOT (With a little Jay Pinkerton and Mack Leighty thrown into the mix). Granted that I have yet to come close to the quality of the articles to be found on PWOT, I still find myself plugging along hoping I get to entertain at least two of the four people who visit my blog regularly.

Secondly, his recount of how he got into writing comedy sounds uncannily like my childhood (except for the part about being a genius, and being able to read). Which encourages me to continue honing my craft and keep hoping that someday I’ll enjoy even a fraction of the success that he is enjoying now.

You see, just recently, he has been made editor of Cracked.com. Which is nothing short of awesome considering his previous job involved doing nothing but doing data entry and answering emails and other stuff which doesn’t involve creative writing. So from now on, he’ll be involved in comedy writing as well as recruiting comedy writers day in and day out.

So he now has a published book, and gets paid for writing comedy. This is the kind of nirvana that people like me can only dream about. Maybe I’ll get there someday. Maybe not. In the meantime, I’m going to keep trying, and maybe grow my readership to ten people by the end of the year.

So where was I? Oh yeah, try to read JDATE and its sequel online. It’s a hoot. If you enjoy it enough, you might want to buy the real deal on Amazon because there have reportedly been revisions in the print edition.
