Though I promised myself that I will never use quizzes, memes, or tags as blog entries, I’m going to make an exception this time only because writing it as a comment to whoever it is that tagged me (my cousin Mike) is a bitch.
Also, it’s fun. Weeee!
Total number of films I own: According to my online DVD catalog, I own a measly sixty-something titles. I stopped actively buying DVDs a few years ago when I learned the value of money. That’s right kids, learn to save for a rainy day. Use your money for drugs instead. Add some 20-odd titles which are in VCD, VHS, and Laserdisc format.

- Miyazaki’s My Neighbor Totoro
- Miyazaki’s Castle in the Sky
- Miyazaki’s Spirited Away
- Grave of the Fireflies
- Akira Kurosawa’s The Hidden Fortress
Five (5) films which I watch a lot/mean a lot to me:
Take note that the following films arent’ necessarily my favorites because the question didn’t call for a list of my favorite films. These are simply a list of films that I will never get tired of watching.
- Donnie Darko — Tops my list because…just because.
- Spirited Away — Possibly the best fantasy story I’ve ever come across. I saw it a couple of times already and it only keeps getting better.
- Magnifico — One of the best films produced by the Philippines in a long time. Also, your appreciation for a film gets an added dimension when you’ve met some of the people involved in the film.
- The Breakfast Club — Never. Gets. Old.
- Saved! — Severly flawed film but it totally speaks to me. Thanks to Cathy & Jen for the DVD by the way.
I now pass this baton on to….whoever wants it.
