Product Review: Edifier iF330

Edifier iF330If you’ve been following all my posts in the forum, I’d say you were creepy. And please stay away from me.Also, you’d know that I’ve been obsessing about this product for a few months now. And it was only today that I finally got off my lazy ass over to Greenhills to finally buy it.

My buddy brought one of these to my bachelor party a couple of months ago and the first thing I noticed was how crisp and solid the sound was. So I asked him how much he got it for and I was floored at the price. Only 3.5K. That’s pretty fucking cheap considering most iPod speakers reach up to the 5 digit range.

So anyway, true enough, they were selling these beauties over at Virra Mall for as low as 3.5K to as high as 4.5K, depending on how deeply you scour the shops there.

Edifier iF330So I’ve been dicking around with a bit since I got home and I think I’m much more in love with it than ever before. Not only does it still sound awesome, and looks sexy, it also has video output so you can connect your video iPod to your TV. Of course I tried it, and while the video quality leaves much to be desired (definitely the fault of the encoding rather than that of the Edifier), it still makes watching videos from your iPod a hell of a lot more convenient.

Other specs listed on the box:

* Total Power Output: RMS 6 W x 2 (THD= 10%)
* Driver: 2 ¾ “
* Magnetically Shielded, 8ohm
* Input Voltage: DC 12V Or 6 AA batteries
* Gross Weight: Approx 1.7 kg
* Total system power: 12 watts (RMS)

If I have any complaints about it, it’s that the volume doesn’t go as high as I’d want (I want these babies to go up 11!) But since I’ll only be using it in a confined space, the it’s really a small complaint compared to how awesome it really is.

I’m hoping future releases from this line include a remote control. And a gun. ‘Coz that’s just cool.

Also, the package includes adapters for all kinds of iPods in the market.

Go out and buy this shit.
