It looks like it’s going to be a very busy week so I’m going to make this short.
The wife and I weren’t expecting to enjoy Manila’s Presentation of Avenue Q as much as we did. For starters, we’ve been listening to the soundtrack for over a year, and I was afraid we’d be sick of the songs by now.
Also, the fact that most of the numbers from the show can now be found in Youtube kind of robs the show some of its novelty.
And lastly, we didn’t exactly go for front row seats because we were on a budget. Instead, we chose the cheapest seats in the house in the hopes that we can get to enjoy the show despite the distance from the stage. Fortunately for us, Lorna (who we got our tickets from), not only gave us early bird discounts, but she also reserved the best seats our cheap money could buy. Huzzah!
I won’t go into the details about how awesome the show was because everything I want to say have already been said here, and here. But suffice it to say that despite our initial misgivings, the show surpassed all expectations. Rachel Alejandro and Aiza Seguerra were revelations. Felix Rivera was perfect for Princeton & Rod, and the rest of the cast was so good, we had trouble picking favorites.
Unfortunately, we forgot to bring cameras so no photos to speak of. But Fritz said he will share those that he and Lauren took.
