I know most of you are sick of me constantly changing my mind: “Should I abandon this blog? Should I leave this host and transfer to a new host? Should my warrior robot race destroy humanity?” You know, the usual. Right before I got married, I decided to leave this blog for good because I wasn’t expecting to have a lot of free time to maintain it, as well as have some extra cash to pay for the hosting dues.
Then a few months ago, long after I’ve finally settled on a free blogging service, I discovered that this blog is not only still alive, but is still getting a decent amount of traffic. So powered by nostalgia, and a strong desire to check out what’s new with the latest version of Wordpress; I updated the blogging software, then played around with the layout, and the plugins. After I was done, I realized just how much I missed having free reign over the content of my blog.
Wordpress.com and Multiply.com, for all their awesomeness, enforce a lot of restrictions in terms of layout and content that I felt like I wasn’t getting the most out of blogging the way I had it here. So I guess, until I change my mind again, I’m going back to maintaining this blog.
I’m not saying that I won’t be changing my mind again in the future, but I promise to keep you updated.

Obviously, I’ve temporarily run out of the funny juice and I guess this is a good a time as any to continue the story I started last year.
To those who are joining just know, I’m working on a short story that was inspired by a nightmare I had. What’s neat about said nightmare is that it pretty much finished the whole story before I woke up. That was a very considerate nightmare.
Since I felt it was an interesting enough story to flesh out, I started work on it a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, this is my first time to write something of this scope, and given my inability to focus on something for very long, or my inattention to detail, this feat is proving to be a Herculean effort for me. I even joined NaNoWriMo last year to light a fire under my ass. But I only got as far as 5000 words and stopped dead in my tracks.
So here I am, trying to continue my work, and am faced with the same brick walls I left untouched last year.
Breaking away from my practice of posting mainly finished articles on this blog, I’ve decided to chronicle my progress here in the hopes of getting into the practice of writing everyday.
With that out of the way, let me just say that I never realized how hard it is to write interesting dialogue for my characters. It would be so easy to just write everything as a narrative, but that can hardly give life to my characters. Sadly, since I don’t really interact with people apart from my wife and my coworkers on a daily basis, writing witty exchanges between characters who are supposed to be interesting is proving to be quite a challenge.
Anyway, if anybody’s interested in reading what I’ve done so far, feel free to drop me a message.
