I’ve actually been back for a week, but it took this long to post the photos of the first leg of our Eurotrip because trying to sequentially arrange photos from four different cameras which are set to three different timezones is not fun. Also, since our internet at home chose this time to take a break, I really didn’t have a choice on the matter.
Anyway, Europe.
We touched down in Italy around lunchtime on Nov 7, 2007 and we hit the ground running. It was still too early for us to check in at the hotel so we had no choice but to start our tour while wearing the clothes we’ve been wearing for the past 20 hours or so. So we were brought to St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City where we took pictures of marble penises and upskirt shots of some other Roman statues.
The weather was perfect—not hotter than 14 degrees Celsius and not colder than 8, and the food was fucktastic. Granted that for our first meal in Europe, we had to share one panini between the six of us because none of us could quite get the hang of spending the equivalent of Php250 for a sandwich, it was still awesome to be eating genuine Italian food.
Other notable places featured in the pictures are the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, the Fountain of Trevi, and the Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi.
