Faded Boxers

So here’s what was going on in my mind during the movie:

Oh this is boring. This is boring. This is boring. Oh wait, here’s the climax. Maybe this will make up for all the boring parts…..Well that was stupid.

Lemme clarify that a bit.

As much as I was a fan of Christopher Nolan’s Memento, I find myself being terribly disappointed with everything he did after and even before that. Insomnia was unremarkable, and Batman Begins would have been awesome had it not been for the retarded way he photographed the fight scenes. And Following was kinda ok, but lacked a satisfying payoff if I remember correctly.

Still, I was actually hoping to like this movie. But true to Nolan’s track record, this ended up disappointing the crap out of me as well.

The problem I have with “twisty” movies like this and The Sixth Sense is that the director/s tend to focus all their energies into working towards that supposed twist. Then when the twist finally comes, and it ain’t that great, all I’m left with is an acute case is wanting to murder somebody.

Everything about this movie was too gimmicky, and that tends to bore/turn me off. Still I decided to hold off my judgment until the very end in the hopes that it eventually redeems itself. Unfortunately, the ending consisted of the nothing more than the aforementioned twist, which we’ve pretty much figured out as soon as that mute lawyer was introduced in the story.

So I didn’t enjoy the build up, and I didn’t enjoy the twist. Which is why I’m giving this movie my lowest rating of: FAG.

Also, you may think that I hate all twisty movies. Not true. The Others was awesome with or without the twist.
