V for Vendetta

The latest Hollywod blockbuster V for Vendetta immediately follows the events of the cancelled, but beloved TV show U for Underpants. It continues the wacky adventures of bumbling detective V (played by Robin Williams) as he extracts himself from sticky situation after sticky situation with his wit and luck.

Aided by his trusty sidekick Squancho (played by Adam Sandler in a surprisingly sensitive role), V (which we learn during the course of the movie stands for SPOILER WARNING!: Very Retarded), V uncovers a plot that will forever change the face of movies! And cows!

More action awaits longtime fans including the answers to the questions that they have long been asking: How does he manage to outsmart his enemies at every turn? How does he drive his duckmobile while blindfolded? Will he finally tell Sister Mary Cackleton that he really is her son even though he’s five years older than her? Well, if you’re anything like me, you’d be really pumped to see this movie because the trailers have alluded that these answers may finally be answered! Wow!

Letters to Penthouse V: The Ways of Sexual Pleasure in All Their Dazzling VarietyThe pacing is tight. The characters are just as loveable as I remember, and the action scenes were all awesome! That climactic scene between V and his archnemesis Captain Vowel got me so pumped I couldn’t look at another cereal box without a shiver running through my spine!

Also, I’m very glad that they’ve re-imagined the story so as to be more family friendly. Not many people know this, but the character V was first brought to life in the steamy romance novel Letters to Penthouse V: The Ways of Sexual Pleasure in All Their Dazzling Variety

Purists would probably be disappointed with the movie because of its departure from the source material, but I think it was all for the better. Because budget wise, there was no way Hollywood was paying for a gigantic pelvic region of a male mannequin in which the epic Battle of The Bulge takes place.

All in all, a very entertaining movie. Perfect for the whole family. I give it my highest rating of:
