What I Learned From The Cruise

I finally got around to collating the pictures of the cruise, and I’ll be uploading them shortly. Meanwhile, here are a few things I learned/ reaffirmed/ discovered while on The Cruise:

  • One’s respect for any race goes down as the number of kids of that race present with you in the same room goes up.
  • On board a ship comprised of people from 26 different countries, Japanese was surprisingly the language most pleasing to the ear.
  • Getting up to sing in front of a room full of people may not be good for your image, but it’s good for the soul.
  • Contrary to popular belief, Celine Dione’s To Love You More isn’t the most annoying song in the world.
  • ABBA’s Chiquitita is.
  • Next time you try and sing in front of strangers, don’t attempt to pull off a power ballad like Chicago’s Look Away.
  • Most of the time, traveling with family is awesome.
  • Sometimes it just plain sucks.
  • Pack more shirts.
  • I want an Elephant.
  • Without any prior preparation, or even a script, a group of Filipinos can successfully entertain a room full of passengers who should be pissed at the delayed arrival back home, but are not.
  • I now know that those Amazing Race contestants who get stranded in a foreign country with no idea when they can return home are well within their rights to cry their eyes out.
  • Even when we’re not in the same country, Rach knows just what to say to make me feel better.
  • You can never take too many pictures.
  • Elevators are evil.

Next: Pictures! Without captions!

Also, If I haven’t stated this enough yet, Cruise Ships are awesome!

I think I’ve always known. But after an elevator killed my evil twin Manglador when we were but 12 years old, I thought it was just preventing the end of the world. I would later find out that it was I who it wanted to kill all along.
